About Dr. SabrosoÂ
Â
Dr. Cristina Sabroso is a psychotherapist, transpersonal mentor, and contemplative teacher whose life and work explore where psychology and spirituality meet—moving beyond healing toward self-mastery, self-realization, and ultimately, liberation.
Born and raised in Brazil, Dr. Sabroso brings more than two decades of clinical experience to her work with individuals, couples, and families. Her work encompasses some of the most intimate dimensions of the human experience, including relationships, sexuality, identity, healing, transformation, and the search for meaning—and has been offered in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.
Her professional background spans multiple disciplines. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, Board Certified Clinical Sexologist, Diplomate of the American Board of Sexology, Certified Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner, and EMDR Level II Certified Therapist. Her clinical orientation draws from Transpersonal Psychology, Spiritual Psychology, and Sex Therapy, bringing psychological understanding into dialogue with the deeper dimensions of human consciousness.
Beyond Psychology
Â
Her deep longing for self-realization gradually transformed not only her personal life, but the direction of her professional work.
What began within traditional psychology evolved into a lifelong exploration of meditation, Buddhist Tantra, contemplative practice, the nature of consciousness, and the great spiritual traditions of the world. This path has taken her beyond academic study into direct experience, learning and practicing alongside spiritual teachers, contemplative masters, and indigenous wisdom keepers across cultures, including the Mayan tradition, as well as undertaking pilgrimages and spiritual journeys throughout Nepal, India, Tibet, and beyond.
At the heart of her spiritual path is Kriya Yoga. Initiated in Kathmandu, Nepal, she received the spiritual name Sri Savitri Devi and entered a tradition of practice devoted to self-realization and liberation. This initiation marked a profound turning point in her life, deepening an inner discipline and inquiry that continue to inform both her personal practice and the work she shares with others.
Over time, psychology and spirituality ceased to be separate pursuits. They became different doorways into the same fundamental inquiry:
Who are we beneath the identities, conditioning, stories, and questions we have accumulated?
That inquiry lies at the heart of The End of Questions.
What began as a personal search became a lived spiritual discipline and, eventually, a calling to accompany others in their own inner exploration. Rather than separating psychological healing from spiritual awakening, her work brings the two into dialogue—supporting a movement beyond healing and self-understanding toward self-mastery, self-realization, and ultimately, liberation.
Today, Dr. Sabroso continues her clinical work while teaching meditation and contemplative practices and working with those who feel called toward a deeper exploration of themselves. Through Satsang, Sangha, private mentoring, retreats, and her writing, she creates intimate spaces for inquiry, awareness, transformation, and the direct exploration of our essential nature.
Her work ultimately points toward something remarkably simple:
The possibility that what we spend our lives searching for may already be within us.
