Two Worlds: The One That Changes and the One That Never Moves
Aug 27, 2026
We live in two worlds: the one that changes, and the one that never moves.
The first is the world we know through our senses. It is the world of bodies, relationships, responsibilities, possessions, emotions, and circumstances. Everything within it is moving. What appears is transformed, and what is born eventually disappears.
We spend much of our lives trying to find permanence within this changing world. We seek lasting security in our circumstances, certainty in our plans, and stability in how others perceive and respond to us. Yet the nature of the outer world is change.
When we expect what is impermanent to remain the same, we suffer.
A relationship changes. The body ages. A plan falls apart. A familiar chapter ends. Even our thoughts and emotions shift from one moment to the next. What felt unbearable yesterday may barely occupy the mind today. What once seemed essential may eventually lose its importance.
There is pain in the human experience, but suffering deepens when the mind argues with the nature of what is.
When the mind is pleasant, there is happiness. When the mind is unpleasant, there is suffering.
But is the changing world the whole of our experience?
Close your eyes for a moment.
Thoughts may appear. Sensations may move through the body. Sounds may arise and disappear. Emotions may come and go. Yet something is present to notice all of them.
There is an awareness of the thought.
There is an awareness of the sensation.
There is an awareness of the sound.
There is an awareness of the emotion.
Everything observed changes, but the awareness in which it is observed remains quietly present.
This is the second world—not another place, but another dimension of our experience. It is the stillness beneath movement, the silence beneath thought, and the awareness beneath every changing state.
I call it the Diamond Within.
A diamond does not become more complete when it is discovered. It was already whole while hidden beneath the earth. In the same way, awareness does not need to be created, improved, or earned. It is already here, beneath the noise of the changing world.
The purpose of this work is simple: to help you recognize the awareness that is always here.
No belief is required. Only the willingness to look.
For a few moments today, observe what changes.
Notice a thought arriving and leaving. Notice a sensation shifting. Notice how a sound appears, remains briefly, and disappears. Then gently turn your attention toward that which is aware of it all.
Do not try to explain it.
Do not try to hold it.
Simply observe.
The changing world will continue to change. That is its nature. But beneath every movement, there is something that has never moved.
This is not my teaching.
It's a realization.

Dr. Sabroso
